Passports, sun cream and… passenger locator forms?! Jetting off on holiday now comes with a few new travel essentials to keep in mind along the way.

For Before You Go

Your checklist for at least few weeks before your outbound flight:

Make sure you have proof of your vaccination status (if required).

TIP: Some destinations and entry requirements will require you to show proof of being double vaccinated.

Download the NHS App on Apple and Android devices.

Don’t have a smartphone? Don’t worry! Call 119 to request a paper copy of your vaccination status. Please note this can take at least 5 days to arrive.

Book your PCR tests. These may be required as part of the entry requirements for your holiday destination.

TIP: You can also book your PCR tests for returning back to the UK and for when you’re back home.

You’ll need to book your PCR tests through a Government approved provider. Click here to find tests from just £43.

Check all passports have at least six months validity left on them.

 

Simply check the expiry date on your passport. If you have less than six months before your password expires, you’ll need to apply for a new passport. Without this you will not be allowed to travel. Click here for details.

Book Travel Insurance and check that your cover is sufficient.

For Before You Go

Your checklist for a few days before your outbound flight:

Take your PCR test and send this off for results. The entry requirements for your holiday destination may require you to take a PCR test and present a negative test result for travel so it’s important you get this done in time.

 

You test kit will have instructions on how to take the test and send them off for results. Thoroughly follow the instructions and guide from your test provider.

Download your proof of vaccination status from the NHS App.

 

Follow the instructions on the App to download a PDF copy of your vaccination status. Alternatively, you can send yourself a copy via email to show where necessary.

TIP: We recommend doing both!

If you applied for a letter as proof of vaccination status, make sure you have it in time and keep it at hand somewhere safe, like inside your passport.

For Before You Go

Your checklist to use before you head to the airport for your outbound flight:

TIP: Remember to get to the airport nice and early! With PPE procedures and new travel essential checks, it can take a little longer to get checked-in and to get through security, so you’ll want to give yourself plenty of time.

If you have ordered a PCR test kit to take with you on holiday, follow the instructions given by your test provider.

 

If you’re arranging a PCR test whilst on holiday, follow the information provided to you at time of booking.

Complete the Passenger Locator Form for your return to the UK

TIP: Have your NHS number, test receipt number and passport information to hand. You’ll need this for everyone who is travelling home in your party.

 

While You’re On Holiday
